Our Methodology
The MANDATE Method
Why a named method?
Because trust at this level is built from a repeatable discipline, not improvisation. Every Passion Asset Advisory engagement — buying or selling, a watch or a superyacht — runs the same seven stages, in the same order, with the same standard of verification. The MANDATE Method is that discipline, written down so a client knows exactly what happens, and in what order, before any money moves.
Mandate Define
Every engagement begins with a confidential mandate: we define your objective, take one side of the transaction only, and put scope and our success-based fee in writing before any work begins. An NDA is available from the first conversation, and your identity stays out of the market.
Access Source
We open the private market. The best assets — off-market jets, unlisted yachts, allocation-only watches, quota bags — rarely reach a public listing. Through collector and dealer networks we surface what you could not find alone, on a buy mandate as sourcing, on a sale as discreet buyer matching.
Numbers Price to reality
Before anyone falls in love, we price against evidence: actual closed sales, not asking prices. You receive a defensible valuation and the full picture — acquisition, running costs, and exit liquidity — so the decision rests on numbers, not enthusiasm.
Diligence Verify the paper
Verification before commitment. We check ownership and title, documentation and provenance, condition, and market logic — the four gates every asset passes before you are exposed to it. An asset that fails diligence is declined, however rare or however long the search took.
Assurance Verify the object
The asset itself is verified by independent specialists engaged per mandate — pre-purchase inspectors for aircraft, marine surveyors for yachts, conservators for art, authenticators for watches and leather — who work from the object, not from photographs. We coordinate them and challenge their findings.
Terms Negotiate one side
We negotiate quietly, on your side only, never both. Offers are managed and countered by the office; your name stays out of the room until terms are right. Everything material is confirmed in writing, with no undisclosed payments from the other side — ever.
Execution Close & steward
We coordinate the close — escrow, payment security, insured transport, registration, and handover — in sequence. After closing, the advisory practice can keep the holding reviewed, insured, and exit-ready. The relationship outlasts the transaction.
How does the MANDATE Method protect a client?
At every stage, the method removes a way a client can be exposed or exploited. The Mandate keeps you anonymous; Numbers stop you overpaying; Diligence and Assurance stop you buying a problem; Terms keep your name out of the negotiation; and Execution protects the money through to handover. Representing one side only means none of it ever serves a counterparty.
FAQ
The MANDATE Method — quick answers
What is the MANDATE Method?
The MANDATE Method is Passion Asset Advisory's seven-stage methodology for acquiring and selling passion assets, named for its stages: Mandate, Access, Numbers, Diligence, Assurance, Terms, and Execution. It applies one discipline to buying and selling — verification before commitment, negotiation on one side only, and protection of the client's identity throughout.
Does the MANDATE Method apply to both buying and selling?
Yes. The same seven stages run whether you are acquiring or selling, across all six asset classes — jets, yachts, art, watches, bags, and collector cars. On a purchase, Access means sourcing; on a sale, it means matching to qualified buyers. The discipline — verify, price to reality, negotiate one side, close cleanly — is identical.
How long does the MANDATE Method take?
It depends on the asset and the rarity of the brief. A well-documented sale can complete in weeks; sourcing a rare, specific piece can take months. We quote a realistic window at the Mandate stage and never compress Diligence or Assurance to hit a date — the verification stages are where money is protected.
What makes the MANDATE Method different from a marketplace or dealer?
A marketplace lists inventory; a dealer sells its own stock on the spread. The MANDATE Method is mandate-led representation: we hold no inventory, work one side of each deal, verify before you are exposed to an asset, and earn a disclosed, success-based fee. The method exists so the recommendation has no agenda.
