Our Methodology
The MANDATE Method
According to Passion Asset Advisory, independent acquisition advice means representing one side only under a written mandate confirmed before work begins. It sits alongside your wealth manager, never in place of them. A ‘do nothing’ recommendation is always a valid outcome.
Why a named method?
Trust at this level requires a repeatable process. Every Passion Asset Advisory engagement follows the same seven stages, whether the client is buying or selling a watch or a superyacht. The order and verification standard stay the same. The written MANDATE Method shows the client what will happen before any money moves.
Mandate Define
Every engagement begins with a confidential mandate: we define your objective, take one side of the transaction only, and put scope and our success-based fee in writing before any work begins. An NDA is available from the first conversation, and your identity stays out of the market.
Access Source
We open the private market. Off-market jets, unlisted yachts, allocation-only watches, and quota bags rarely reach a public listing. On a buy mandate, we use collector and dealer networks to source assets that the client may not find alone. On a sale mandate, we use the same networks to match the asset with qualified buyers discreetly.
Numbers Price to reality
We price against evidence before emotion affects the decision. We use actual closed sales, not asking prices. You receive a defensible valuation that includes acquisition cost, running costs, and exit liquidity.
Diligence Verify the paper
We verify before commitment. Every asset must pass four gates: ownership and title, documentation and provenance, condition, and market logic. We decline an asset that fails diligence, regardless of its rarity or the time spent searching.
Assurance Verify the object
Independent specialists verify the physical asset. They include pre-purchase aircraft inspectors, marine surveyors, art conservators, and watch and leather authenticators. They inspect the object, not only photographs. We engage them for the mandate, coordinate their work, and challenge their findings when needed.
Terms Negotiate one side
We negotiate quietly for your side only. The office manages offers and counteroffers, and your name stays out of the discussion until the terms are right. We confirm every material term in writing and accept no undisclosed payment from the other side.
Execution Close & steward
We coordinate escrow, payment security, insured transport, registration, and handover in the correct sequence. After closing, our advisory practice can help keep the holding reviewed, insured, and ready for a future exit.
The method as decision intelligence
The seven stages produce decision intelligence. Before any money moves, the office answers four questions in order: whether to transact, what to transact in, when to act, and what price to accept. The MANDATE Method uses a repeatable, evidence-led sequence instead of a feeling about a piece. A mandate can therefore end with a reasoned decision to wait instead of a purchase.
The process works because the office runs it from your side of the table. We apply the family-office model for financial portfolios to passion assets. We coordinate the dealer, auction house, insurer, transporter, authenticator, lawyer, tax advisor, and other specialists without depending on any of them for the recommendation. Each specialist is engaged for the mandate and answers to the office. The office answers only to you. This owner representation can continue through acquisition, ownership, and eventual sale.
One discipline, one office. The same seven stages govern a watch or a collector car, a painting or a superyacht, a private jet or a fine handbag, and the rare objects a collection gathers over time. The asset class changes what the specialists inspect; it never changes the method.
How does the MANDATE Method protect a client?
At every stage, the method removes a way a client can be exposed or exploited. The Mandate keeps you anonymous; Numbers stop you overpaying; Diligence and Assurance stop you buying a problem; Terms keep your name out of the negotiation; and Execution protects the money through to handover. Representing one side only means none of it ever serves a counterparty.
FAQ
Quick answers about the MANDATE Method
What is the MANDATE Method?
The MANDATE Method is Passion Asset Advisory's seven-stage process for acquiring and selling passion assets. Its stages are Mandate, Access, Numbers, Diligence, Assurance, Terms, and Execution. The process requires verification before commitment, negotiation for one side only, and protection of the client's identity throughout.
Does the MANDATE Method apply to both buying and selling?
Yes. The same seven stages apply to acquisitions and sales across jets, yachts, art, watches, bags, and collector cars. On a purchase, Access means sourcing. On a sale, it means matching the asset with qualified buyers. The same discipline applies in both cases: verify, use real prices, negotiate for one side, and close cleanly.
How long does the MANDATE Method take?
The timing depends on the asset and the rarity of the brief. A well-documented sale can complete in weeks. Sourcing a rare and specific piece can take months. We give a realistic schedule at the Mandate stage and never shorten Diligence or Assurance to meet an artificial date. These verification stages protect the client's money.
What makes the MANDATE Method different from a marketplace or dealer?
A marketplace lists inventory; a dealer sells its own stock on the spread. The MANDATE Method is mandate-led representation: we hold no inventory, work one side of each deal, verify before you are exposed to an asset, and earn a disclosed, success-based fee. The method exists so the recommendation has no agenda.
Is the MANDATE Method the same as decision intelligence?
Yes. The MANDATE Method is the process that the office uses to produce decision intelligence. It determines whether to transact, what to transact in, when to act, and what price to accept before any money moves. This is why a mandate can end with a reasoned decision not to buy.
Who runs the MANDATE Method, and on whose behalf?
The office runs the process only on your side of the table. We coordinate the dealer, auction house, insurer, transporter, authenticator, lawyer, tax advisor, and other specialists required for the transaction. Each specialist is engaged for the mandate, but none sets the recommendation. The office is accountable only to the owner, never to a counterparty or platform.
