What is your Richard Mille watch worth?
Richard Mille resale value depends on the exact reference, case material, originality, condition and records. Passion Asset Advisory separates asking prices, documented sales and buyer offers before estimating seller net. Start with the evidence for your watch, not a generic brand price. This guide explains that review without inventing a current price range.
Identify before pricing
Build a record of the watch you actually own
A reference is the starting point, not the whole valuation. Record the case material separately from the movement, strap and clasp. State which details come from documents, which are visible in photographs and which need inspection. Do not turn an uncertain description into a confirmed specification just to match a higher-priced listing.
| Check | What to record | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Reference and configuration | Full reference, case material, dial, strap and clasp. | A similar-looking model is not automatically comparable. |
| Material evidence | Documents identifying the case, not only a movement component. | A platinum rotor does not establish a platinum case. |
| Condition and function | Visible wear, damage, running concerns and known repairs. | An unresolved fault needs assessment before a deduction. |
| Originality | Factory configuration, changed parts and any later gem setting. | Modification must not be presented as factory specification. |
| Records and set | Warranty documents, purchase and service records, box and accessories. | List what exists and what remains unverified. |
| Price evidence | Source, date, currency, exact watch and price basis. | An asking price and a completed sale are different evidence. |

Keep asking prices, completed sales and offers separate
An asking price states what a seller requests. It may help describe competing supply, but it does not show what a buyer paid. Keep the listing date and terms beside it. A withdrawn advertisement is not proof of a sale.
A documented completed sale is stronger transaction evidence, but it still needs context. Check the reference, material, condition, set, date and currency. For an auction, identify whether the published result is the hammer price or includes buyer's premium. Neither figure is automatically the previous owner's net proceeds.
A written buyer offer concerns a particular watch under stated conditions. Record inspection requirements, costs and any offer expiry that the buyer actually supplies. An indicative estimate is not the same as that offer. If relevant completed-sale evidence is sparse, say so; do not fill the gap by relabelling listings as transactions.
A comparison example, not a reported transaction
Suppose an owner finds a higher-priced advertisement for a diamond-set watch with a similar reference. The owner's watch has a different case material and no gem setting. First establish whether the advertised setting is factory-original. Keep that listing outside the closest comparable group until these differences are clear. Do not average the prices or invent a standard percentage adjustment.
Factory-set and aftermarket watches need different evidence
A seller's description such as “bust down” does not establish factory origin. Ask for documents that identify the delivered configuration and any later work. A genuine base watch, original factory gem setting and subsequent customisation are separate questions. The cost of added stones is not a demonstrated increase in resale value.
Richard Mille's servicing policy warns that interventions outside its network, including third-party precious-stone setting and replacement sapphire cases, invalidate its warranty. Record any such work before discussing a value. Do not treat a modified watch as equivalent to an unmodified example or describe a valuation review as manufacturer approval.
Condition and service history belong beside the price
Describe wear and known running problems before arranging cosmetic work. Keep dated service invoices and details of replaced components. Richard Mille states that service costs depend on the complication; this guide has no model-specific service quote. Obtain a relevant assessment before subtracting a repair allowance from an offer.
Missing paperwork leaves questions to resolve, not an automatic fixed discount. Equally, a box and warranty card do not replace examination of the watch. Send an accurate list of available records and disclose gaps. Do not open the case yourself to complete the review record.
The RM 67-01 request is for a platinum case
Passion Asset Advisory has an active buyer mandate, confirmed on 10 October 2026, for the Richard Mille RM 67-01 Extra Flat with a platinum case. No public budget, condition requirement, full-set requirement or deadline has been specified. This request is buyer demand, not advertised inventory or a fixed offer.
The manufacturer's RM 67-01 page identifies a platinum rotor. That movement component does not prove the case is platinum. Check the actual watch and its documents before proposing a match. Read the RM 67-01 case-material guide, then review the current acquisition brief.
Compare what the seller keeps, not just the headline offer
Seller net is the agreed sale price less the seller's applicable fees and costs. Write down the represented side before comparing proposals. For a buyer-side mandate with Passion Asset Advisory, the buyer pays the advisory fee and the seller pays no advisory commission. A separate seller-side appointment has its own disclosed fee. Those are different arrangements, not interchangeable descriptions of the same offer.
Passion Asset Advisory represents one side per transaction. Review its Richard Mille sale routes and terms before an appointment, then use the seller-net calculator with the applicable route. A calculator demonstrates arithmetic; it cannot establish the watch's market value or guarantee a completed sale.
Use a value review for a specific decision
This guide fits an owner preparing a sale enquiry, checking a proposed comparable or comparing written offers. If you need an insurance, estate or other formal report, state that purpose and confirm the scope before commissioning it. A sale estimate is not automatically suitable for every reporting purpose.
It is not remote authentication, an instant binding bid or an investment forecast. Past prices cannot establish future appreciation. For an initial review, send the reference, material, condition and available records. The enquiry form takes text details; photographs are requested by email afterward. This is an independent brokerage review, not an authorised Richard Mille dealership service.
Owner questions
Richard Mille value FAQ
How much is my Richard Mille worth?
Passion Asset Advisory starts with the exact reference, case material, condition, originality and records, then assesses available transaction evidence and written offers. Any estimate must state its evidence limits and distinguish gross price from seller net. This guide does not publish a current price range for an unidentified watch.
Do Richard Mille watches hold their value?
No brand-wide return is assured. The purchase price, exact configuration, condition, demand and selling costs affect an owner's result. A strong sale for another reference does not prove what your watch will fetch or make future appreciation predictable.
Can an online RM 67-01 price value my watch?
Only as evidence to examine, not as an automatic valuation. Match the case material, configuration, condition and set, and identify whether the number is an asking price or a documented sale. Record its date and currency before deciding whether it is relevant.
Does a platinum rotor mean an RM 67-01 has a platinum case?
No. The rotor is a movement component. Richard Mille's technical description identifies a platinum rotor, while the active acquisition request specifies a platinum case. The actual case material requires separate evidence from the watch and its documents.
Do aftermarket diamonds increase Richard Mille resale value?
Do not assume so. Establish whether setting is factory-original or later work, disclose modifications and assess relevant offers. Money spent on customisation is not proof of recoverable value. Manufacturer warranty implications must also be checked; a gem-set description alone does not resolve them.
Can I request a value review without box or papers?
Yes, but list exactly what is missing and provide any purchase or service records available. The review must identify unresolved ownership, configuration or verification questions. There is no universal deduction for missing papers, and requesting a review does not guarantee acceptance of the watch or a buyer offer.
