Alex reviews reference details, condition notes and the basis of each price. A retail price, dealer asking price, completed auction result and office estimate are different types of evidence. They are labeled separately. A published guide does not authenticate an individual watch or guarantee its sale price.

• Primary sources first: manufacturer specifications and published auction results take priority. Dealer listings show asking prices, not completed sales.
• Clear price basis: figures keep their source currency. Any conversion must state its date and rate. Auction prices identify whether buyer’s premium is included.
• Office estimates: a range based on the office’s judgment is labeled as an estimate. Missing evidence is not replaced with a made-up result.
• Separate dates: publication, page update and evidence review are recorded separately. Historical results remain dated historical results.
